I remember as a child, many of the older men in my community meeting on a daily basis at the local coffee shop for conversation, comradery, and a good cup of coffee. Back then a cup of coffee only cost 50 cents and refills were on the house…and folks were well-informed about the going-ons in the community.
This year I’d like to give something new a try. On the fourth Friday of each month (unless otherwise noted), I invite parents, grandparents and community members who are interested in learning about the positive things happening at Clifton Elementary and how we can all support them, to join me for conversation and a free cup of coffee. I expect that we’ll find we have more in common than not as we explore how we can support the amazing children of our community. For those who are not able to join us, I’ll post a summary of the conversation following our time together as a news article on the Clifton Elementary School website.
I look forward to our time together. After all, there’s not many things I enjoy more than friendly conversation and a good cup of coffee.
