Greetings, CUB NATION! We have quite a few events coming up these next few weeks at Clifton Elementary. Below is a list of those events with a brief description for each. We hope that you are able to come out and be a part of the happenings of your child's school and look forward to working with you to meet the social-emotional and educational needs of your child.
Upcoming Events
Tuesday, February 21st - "Pastries with the Papa Bears" - This is a parent engagement event focused on giving our CES dads an opportunity to be on campus and engage in an event with their child. During this time breakfast pastries, coffee and juice will be provided for parents and their students. The event will take place in the CES Gym from 7:30 - 8:15 AM. Information will be provided about upcoming events taking place on campus and a guest speaker from our community will also be on hand.
Tuesday, February 21st - Friday, February 24th - Interim Assessments - This is for all CES students in grades 3 - 5. Assessments will be administered in Math (3-5), Reading (3-5), and Science (5 ) during this week to obtain data as to student readiness for the upcoming STAAR testing that will take place later in the spring. Teachers will use this data to make final preparations for state testing and address the educational needs of each student to maximize their individual performance.
Monday, February 27th - Friday, March 3rd - Spring Book Fair - During this week the CES Library will be hosting a book fair to benefit our school library in adding more volumes to our reading inventory.
Tuesday, February 28th - "Gravy with the Grands" - This is a special community engagement event targeted for CES grandparents to show our appreciation for the impact and contribution they make in the lives of our CES students. During this time biscuits and sausage gravy, along with choice of coffee or juice will be served to our grandparents and their accompanying students. The event will take place in the CES Gym from 7:30 - 8:15 AM. following this event, the book fair will be open for grandparents to attend with their grandchildren.
Thursday, March 2nd - Spring Open House and Family Fun Night - This will be an open house event for CES families and community members to visit our school, attend the book fair, and enjoy fun games and activities in honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday and his contribution to children's literature. We will also have two different local restaurants on hand who will be providing two different meal options for purchase with family friendly pricing. Just think... family, food, and fun... and with no dirty dishes to wash. What's not to love about that?!
Monday, March 13th - Friday, March 17th - CISD Spring Break Holiday - No School. Bus routes and classes will resume as regularly scheduled on Monday, March 20th. Have a safe and fun time with family and friends!
