The second Tuesday of each month, Clifton ISD's Curriculum Director in coordination with Clifton ISD's ESL Director hosted the Parent-Family Engagement Nights during the 2023-24 school year. The inaugural year goal of Clifton ISD hosting the “Second Tuesday” events was to be beyond what each of our campuses are doing each school year to focus information on how our partnership for parents and our campuses can support student achievement. (as part of Title I, Part A ESSA 1116 (e)(1-14) ).
With each session, materials were provided and training resources shared to help you work with your child(ren) for support from literacy and mathematics to technology and even social emotional and online safety information. Trained staff were available to provide further assistance in helping you understand topics such as:
The challenging State academic standards (TEKS)
State & Local assessments & their requirements
How to monitor your child’s progress
Work with educators to improve the achievement of your child
Special programs and activities available to support and enrich your child's education
Tuesday, May 14th was the last event of the year and the presentations in English and Spanish can be found here for information and resources for combating the "summer slide." Summer slide is a term used to describe the loss of educational gains during the school year. Be sure to check out the Clifton ISD calendar and these presentations for tips and events to support your learners.
Additionally, we encourage families to complete this feedback form to better equip Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Villarreal in creating and planning of next school year's sessions.
