FOCUS
The Special Education Department’s focus is to ensure each student has the support and services they need to be successful. We believe that collaboration between students, parents/guardians, and staff lead to our most successful results. We’re committed to helping each student become an independent and successful learner and are committed to high standards of education for all students. We look forward to collaborating with students and parents so each student may reach his/her academic and personal potential.
We want to identify all eligible students, offer equal access to the curriculum, and ensure the provision of a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) in compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Specially designed instruction and related services are determined by the Admission, Review, and Dismissal Committee (ARD Committee) for each student. This committee includes the students, parents, and a team of educational professionals dedicated to each student's success in the least restrictive environment (LRE).
