Title I, Part A – Improving Basic Programs Operated By Local Educational Agencies (school districts)—of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015, provides supplemental funding to state and local educational agencies to acquire additional education resources at schools serving high concentrations of students from low-income homes. These resources are used to improve the quality of education programs and ensure students from low-income families have opportunities to meet challenging state assessments.
Title I, Part A schools implement either a Schoolwide program or a Targeted Assistance program. Both Title I, Part A models — Schoolwide and Targeted Assistance — use evidence-based methods and instructional strategies.
All three campuses of Clifton ISD participate in Title I, Part A Schoolwide Programs. Each school receiving Title I, Part A funds, schoolwide and targeted assistance, is required to convene an annual meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to inform parents and families of their school’s participation in the Title I, Part A program and the right of the parents to be involved. ESSA Section 1116 (c). Below are the presentations and recording slides for the 2024-25 Annual Meetings. If you have any questions or concerns reach out to your student's campus office or Tiffany Jones, CISD Curriculum Director at (254)675-2827.
