Welcome to the Clifton Elementary School Community!
My name is Wes Brown and I am the principal of Clifton Elementary School. The 2024-2025 school year is my fourth year with Clifton ISD. I am a twenty-year veteran educator. In those twenty years I have served as an elementary classroom teacher, school counselor, assistant principal, and campus principal. I am married to my wife, Amy, who serves as the Clifton Middle School counselor. We have been married for thirty years and have four grown children; Brianna, Brandon, Benjamin, and Belinda. Prior to becoming an educator I worked in the fields of social work and youth ministry. I hold a Doctorate of Education from Tarleton State University in Educational Leadership, a M. Ed. from Hardin Simmons University in Counseling and Human Development with additional post-graduate work in Educational Leadership, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from McMurry University in Sociology and Religion with post-baccalaureate work in Elementary Education.
As you might tell, I love learning! I love everything about it. I believe that learning - the goal of any educational organization - is a complex, collaborative process of acquiring both knowledge and skill through study, observation, experience, and effective instruction. The key word, I think, is collaborative. Meaning that it is a process that is best done with one another. As a community... of students, educators, and parents... we have the opportunity to learn together, and I'm looking forward to that opportunity. When we come together in collaboration there is no limit to what we can learn or achieve. Community is a wonderful thing and will be a focus for Clifton Elementary this coming school year as we continue to build our school community and reach out to the community we serve.
As your elementary principal I will work with you to ensure that each student has a healthy and safe learning environment, is engaged in learning and connected to both the school and broader community, has access to personalized learning, and is supported by qualified and caring educators so that all students are prepared for success as life-long learners and are able to contribute back to their communities.
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve the community of Clifton and I look forward to continuing our journey together and meeting those of you who are just joining us this school year. I know that we can acheive so much together as we work and strive for the best for our students and our great community. Let's be Great Together! Let's Make a Difference!
